The June 2003 meeting of the Women’s Jewelry Association-L.A. Chapter featured a talk by Nelson Holdo, president of Asanti Fine Jewellers in San Marino, Calif. Holdo shared his expertise in estate jewelry with WJA members and guests, including an explanation of the terms “Antique,” “Estate,” and “Period.” He also lectured on the characteristics of five distinct periods in jewelry making: Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Retro.
Holdo is a past director of the American Gem Society and has lectured extensively to such groups as the Kiwanis, Rotary, Junior League, the University Club, the Town Club, and the San Marino League.
