Steven J. Pully has been named the chairman of the board of Whitehall Jewelers, replacing Daniel Levy, who remains a director.

Pully has served as president of Newcastle Capital Management LP since January 2003.

Levy had served as interim chairman of the Chicago-based specialty jeweler since March 30, following the death of Hugh M. Patinkin, former chairman and CEO of the company.

The company also said Jean K. FitzSimon has been appointed senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary. FitzSimon most recently was general counsel and a principal of consulting firm Bridge Associations LLC.
