Jewelers of America has introduced two new videos in the “Masters’ Mentoring: Professional Bench Skills” series, its line of educational videos for bench jewelers. The new videos are “Prong Setting – Round Brilliants,” featuring JA Certified Master Bench Jeweler Jeffrey Mathews of Jeffrey Mathews Designs, Dallas; and “Ring Sizing – Karat Gold,” featuring JA Certified Master Bench Jeweler Wayne Lenkeit of Lenkeit Manufacturing, Temecula, Calif.
Each video is approximately 15 minutes long and includes live footage of JA Certified Master Bench Jewelers, voice-over narration, close-up views, and on-screen illustrations. Videos are packaged with a Professional Bench Skills Guide, which features step-by-step instructions that follow the video and a complete list of materials (an inexpensive set of supplies that the learner may wish to purchase and use for practice).
The series of videos is an offshoot of JA’s Masters in Motion bench education program, which features demonstrations by JA Certified Master Bench Jewelers at major industry events. Previous videos in the series covered flush setting round gemstones and setting pear-shaped gemstones in prongs.
Each video costs $19.99 for JA members and $29.99 for nonmembers and may be ordered by calling JA at (800) 223-0673.
