Steven Cohen, formerly president of the Movado Group’s Canadian division, has been named president of Ebel Americas. He replaces Randi Shinske, who resigned in late February as president of the luxury-watch brand’s U.S. operations.
The announcement was made March 24 by the Movado Group Inc., which owns Ebel. Cohen will oversee sales of the watch brand in North America and the Caribbean and report directly to Thomas van der Kallen, president of Ebel worldwide.
Cohen, 50, was president of the Canadian division since 2000, overseeing all Movado brands there. He joined the company in 1991 as a sales representative for the Concord brand; later was a sales representative for the Movado watch brand; and in 1997 became vice president of sales for the Corum brand, then owned by Movado.
Van der Kallen said Cohen’s “strong, focused leadership and understanding of the luxury market will further leverage the strength of Movado Group as we continue to successfully revitalize the Ebel brand.”
He said he expects Cohen to “channel the potential of the American sales team toward developing powerful partnerships with our wholesale customers to drive Ebel sell-through as we build on our ‘The Architects of Time’ heritage with unified, aggressive marketing to both men and women.”
