Terry Burman, chairman and chief executive of Sterling Jewelers Inc., was selected to receive the 2002 National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame award in the Jewelry Chains/Supersellers category. Burman was honored at the 15th annual Retailer Hall of Fame ceremony in New York in July. Established in 1988, the Hall of Fame recognizes executives who are active in the jewelry industry and have made substantial contributions to its growth and success. The criteria for the award, which is sponsored by National Jeweler magazine, include leadership, integrity, positive work ethics, and good business practices, as well as meaningful community involvement.
