The recent lawsuit from ex-sightholder W.B. David targeted not only De Beers but also its 84 sightholders and their accountants.
Yet, it’s one of the curious aspects of the suit that while some people had already been served (such as De Beers sales trainer and former W.B. David consultant Diane Warga-Arias) at press time, others—most notably the 84 sightholders—had not.
Some think this could be smart politically. Sightholders have said privately that they would take a much harsher view of what W.B. David did if they were actually served.
W.B. David attorney Clifford Bond acknowledged that the sightholders had not been served but declined to comment on the reason for this.
