Jules R. Schubot Jewellers, Troy, Mich., in coordination with Moceri Development, hosted a celebration of art and beauty in December designed to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Program at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The event, “Jewels, Gems and Generosity,” raised more than $15,000 for the program.
Held in Moceri’s Carrollton Hills model home, the evening featured the creations of jewelry designer Henry Dunay, live holiday music, and a dinner buffet with champagne. More than 230 guests attended the event, and 100% of the ticket price was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Schubot Jewellers also celebrated the holidays with an invitation-only party titled “Holiday Cocktail Celebration, Hollywood Style,” where local notables queued up to have their photographs taken with celebrity look-alikes. Detroit-based fashion historian Sandy Schreier was on hand to autograph her new book, Hollywood Gets Married, as a gift for the evening’s guests; musician Renny Kaufmann handled the entertainment; and expanded jewelry collections from Maxine & Co. and Masriera were on display throughout the evening.
