Toyoji Todaka has been named the new president and chief executive officer of Seiko Corp. of America, effective July 1. SCA is a subsidiary of Seiko Watch Corp., one of the world’s largest watchmakers, headquartered in Tokyo.
Todaka has been with Seiko for more than 20 years. He has held a number of marketing and sales positions and most recently was responsible for licensed watch sales in Asia and Europe.
Todaka replaces Tsutomu Mitome, who left in May to become chairman of the new Seiko Watch Corp. (a subsidiary of Seiko Corp.), which handles manufacturing and marketing of all Seiko watches worldwide, including the Seiko, Pulsar by Seiko, and Spoon by Seiko brands. Seiko is one of the world’s best-selling watch brands and a popular seller in U.S. jewelry and department stores.
