Among the many responsibilities now in the capable hands of JCK’s new associate publisher, Peggy Willett, is the executive management of our special issues and supplements. Because of their importance to our readers, I’ve asked Peggy to use this month’s publisher’s column to give you a preview of what to expect in the coming months. — C.B.
VALUE ADDED FOR JCK READERS
In addition to comprehensive coverage of industry news, product information, market trends and management concerns, JCK magazine frequently publishes editorial reports and special promotional sections to provide you with unique information and resources to strengthen your business.
We’ve set an ambitious schedule of such projects to serve you in the coming year. JCK editors, as usual, will bring you in-depth reports on antique and estate jewelry with “Heritage” in February, June and August. “JCK Luxury,” our new editorial report on the upscale market, debuts in April and returns in June and September.
To write our special promotional sections, we are pleased to welcome Donna Frischknecht, who brings extensive industry expertise from her work on various projects, including SuperSellers and trade show Hotlines for National Jeweler. (See article on page 141.) As JCK’s new special projects manager, Donna will apply her professionalism and style to the following schedule of promotional projects.
Look for January’s special section on amber from Poland, a preview of AGTA’s Tucson GemFair and a guide to JCK’s new Orlando show. January also brings our annual JCK Jewelers’ Directory, with complete reference information on the industry. (The
Directory is such a big project that we have an editor just to look after it. We’re pleased to welcome Lori Roberts as our new Directory editor.) In February, German jewelry sparkles in a special section all its own, while our “Product Preview” helps identify trends for the coming season. Your March JCK will contain a special promotional section on chainmakers from Europe and another on European display. Open to Buy’s showcase of innovative products arrives with your April JCK. In May, we bring you our JCK Las Vegas Show Guide and another special section on the jewelry industry in Germany. June’s JCK features exciting sections on France, Antwerp and India. Open To Buy arrives again in July; guides to the Columbus and Pacific Jewelry Shows follow in August. To wrap up the year, November’s “Trade Shows of the World” insert helps you identify which industry markets best serve your needs.
In addition to this extensive list of special projects, Donna is already developing concepts for new promotional issues to enhance your industry knowledge. We hope you’ll agree that her addition to our team further strengthens JCK’s value to your business.
