Massimo Macchi, a former executive at Bulgari, Gucci Group, and Gianfranco Ferre, has joined the board of Rosato Srlas as part of a broader plan to reinforce top-level management. Macchi will help chief executive officer Marco Rosato define new strategies.

Remembered
Maurice Shire, former president of the American Gem Trade Association, died in January. Shire was a founding father of AGTA and served for many years on the board of directors and as president from 1987 to 1988. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan; children Monique, Franklin, and Robert and Robert’s wife, Nancy; and grandchildren Danielle, Rachael, Ilana, and Evan.
Rene Bannwart, a founding father of Corum, died recently at age 95.
