The Heard Museum of Native Cultures and Art in Phoenix is showing the art of two noted Native American jewelry designers, Yazzie Johnson and Gail Bird, in an exhibit titled Shared Images.
“Innovative design and flawless technical skill distinguish the jewelry of Yazzie Johnson, Navajo, and Gail Bird, Santo Domingo/Laguna,” writes the Heard Museum’s Nicole Haas. The exhibit opened Feb. 17 and runs through July 8.
A catalog called “Shared Images: The Innovative Jewelry of Yazzie Johnson and Gail Bird,” by Diana Pardue, is available from the Heard Museum Shops. For information, call (602) 251-0283 or visit www.heard.org.
