Coomi Bhasin, of Coomi Jewels, recently took home the award in the fine jewelry category of Fashion Group International‘s 10th Annual Rising Star Awards. Bhasin was chosen based on her creativity and jewelry accomplishments.

Mark Schneider was recently named Designer of the Year by Contemporary Design Group, a national organization of jewelry designers and retailers, as part of the group’s annual High Achievement Awards. The recipient is recognized by group members in an effort to promote and recognize the best in designer jewelry, according to CDG.

Winners of the 2007 Niche Award were recently recognized at the Philadelphia Buyers Market of American Craft. Thirty-six Niche Awards are given to artists across a variety of mediums, including fine jewelry. Winners included Todd Reed, gold category, for his Gold Cluster necklace; Elizabeth Gualtieri, gold with stones category, Empress piece; Danielle Crampsie, silver category, Interlocking Play, Pause, Record ring; and Lisa Hawthorne, silver with stones category, Delicate Balance piece. Winning pieces were judged on technical excellence, marketability, and originality.
