Antonio Calce has been appointed general manager of luxury watch brand Corum S.A. He had been vice president of operations since September 2005. Previously Calce was with the Richemont Group, where he developed Panerai’s product range after its acquisition by Richemont in 1997, directed development of the Panerai and Piaget brands, and set up the Panerai manufacturing facility.

The Franck Muller Group has ended its consulting contract with cofounder Franck Muller, according to Swiss press reports at the end of March. The company wouldn’t confirm or deny the reports. In October 2004, co-founders Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes ended legal disputes between themselves concerning operation of the company with a pact that gave management of the group to Sirmakes and made Franck Muller a consultant to, and representative for, the company.

Actor George Clooney is the newest addition to Omega’s international family of brand ambassadors. His image will be used in Omega promotions worldwide, except in North America. Clooney said he got his first Omega, which was his first watch, from an uncle in 1969—the year Apollo 11’s crew, wearing Omegas, set foot on the moon.
