A well-known publication of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has undergone a number of transformations to provide a more modern, reader-friendly format for its 80,000-plus readers. The Loupe: GIA World News, now in its 55th year, features brighter colors, larger photos, new headline styles, and a more manageable size. In addition, new content has been integrated into the magazine, beginning with an expanded section focusing on the GIA Alumni Association. New columns include “Market View,” authored by longtime industry journalist Russell Shor; and “Student View,” written by GIA students to give readers a glimpse into life at the Institute from a student’s perspective.
