The board of governors of the Jewelers Education Foundation (JEF) of the American Gem Society has appointed Dona K. Norris as executive director of the charitable organization. Adding staff leadership was the next step in the JEF’s plan for enhancing its commitment to the jewelry industry: to advance the skills and ethical standards of the industry.

The JEF has pledged to do this by providing support, encouragement, and leadership to all jewelers who aspire to the highest level of professionalism. To achieve their goals, the group uses written courses, a management group, and a speaker’s bureau focused on its “retail jeweler teaching retail jeweler” philosophy. The AGS name is used with permission of that group, and the JEF’s written courses are produced in cooperation with AGS.
