The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers will hold its 10th Annual Summer Educational Conference in Annapolis, Md., July 27-31. The conference will follow a classroom discussion format followed by hands-on workshops.
Arthur Groom will conduct a three-hour presentation plus a workshop on emeralds and emerald treatments. Joe Tenhagen will discuss problems and pitfalls he encountered in the Florida emerald case. Mike Hyszka will review the proper use of spectroscope techniques for the identification of gemstones in jewelry. Additional speakers will address watch appraising, silver flatware and hollowware appraising, and other topics.
