Bob Taylor, longtime head of Maui Divers Jewelry, the Honolulu-based 56-store chain, announced he is retiring at the end of 2011 after 35 years with the company.
Mary Beth Brenner, the current executive vice president, will succeed Taylor as president and CEO. Taylor will continue to serve as a company director and stockholder.
“It’s just time,” Taylor tells JCK. “I’ve been with the company 35 years, and there are other things I want to do with my life—family things, traveling.”
Taylor became president in 1993 and CEO in 1999. He is credited with overseeing the company’s expansion from five to 56 stores.
