Last year’s International Jewellery London, which took place Sept. 3-6, attracted more exhibitors and visitors than in previous years, prompting organizers to call it bigger and better than ever before.
IJL 2000 was 17% bigger than the 1999 show and had a 9.2% increase in stand space sold. The event attracted more than 460 exhibitors from 24 countries, including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Northern Ireland, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. Exhibitors displayed varied products, including silver, gold, and platinum jewelry; colored gemstones; giftware; clocks; tools; design packages; and gem identification and certification equipment.
New features included a seminar program, “New Looks @ IJL,” and an improved Theatre of Jewellery.
