After 10 years in its Greenwich, Conn., headquarters, Leslie’s relocated last fall to a newer and larger space nearby. The new facility is already allowing the gold importing company to expand its business.
The new space—about 15,000 sq. ft.—is three times the size of the company’s former home. “We’ve been able to bring a lot of new product in this year,” says co-owner and vice president Judy Ban, who notes that diamond-accented gold merchandise is included among the new product offerings. The diamond and gold lines—about 30 pieces that retail for $75 to $1,200—are a new venture for Leslie’s. The company has simplified ordering the new diamond pieces by selling it by weight, with diamonds figured into the per-gram price. The new headquarters also has allowed the company to expand its earring lines by about 40% and provide displays to more of its retailers.
The company is planning further expansion within its new headquarters, says Ban, and is continually expanding its staff.
