The 3rd Manila Jazz Festival opened to a packed house at the Expo Exchange in Makati City, Philippines. The event is sponsored in part by Jewelmer International, a leading producer of Philippine South Sea pearls. The event featured performances by five jazz bands: the Jewelmer Jazz Band, Subconcept, Johnny Alegre Affinity, Satya, and the Jamie Oehlers Quartet.

This is the third consecutive year that Jewelmer has organized the festival in support of the arts and culture. This year’s musicians—who ranged in age from mid-20s to mid-60s—offered three distinct styles of jazz music.

Jewelmer’s partners for this year’s festival were Air France-KLM, BNP Paribas in association with Ambassade de France aux Philippines, Alliance Française de Manille, and Association Française d’Action Artistique.
