On Feb. 1, the JCK Group announced four recipients of 2011 JCK Industry Fund grants. The Jewelers’ Security Alliance was recognized for its ongoing initiative with eBay. (JSA president John Kennedy noted that thanks to JCK’s support, an eBay seller was arrested for allegedly selling fenced jewelry.) The American Gem Society received an award for its Conclave; AGS will use the grant funds to lure top speakers to the annual event. The Jewelers Vigilance Committee is being supported for its Industry Protection Program, which provides compliance guidance and consulting on various regulatory requirements for jewelers. The Women’s Jewelry Association was awarded for its Women in the Know conference, and will put the grant toward “more inspirational speakers,” travel incentives, corporate discounts, and special student rates.
JCK Industry Fund recipients will receive their awards at a presentation ceremony at JCK Las Vegas in June.
