Bulgari jewels have adorned many an iconic actress, from Ingrid Bergman to Elizabeth Taylor to Jessica Chastain. Here, Monica Vitti wears the Seven Wonders necklace, in platinum with 97.61 cts. t.w. diamonds and seven cushion-cut Colombian emeralds weighing in at a whopping 118.46 cts. t.w. (not to mention the matching earrings and ring). Though Vitti made five films with director ­Michelangelo Antonioni—six if you count her voice-over in 1957’s Il ­Grido—she didn’t appear in many Hollywood movies because she was self-conscious about her English. As this 1963 photo attests, Vitti’s influence went far beyond language.
