Isaac Baum, owner of Baumell Pearl Co., died in San Francisco on Jan. 19 of a heart attack. He was 79. Baum, born in Poland, spent World War II in concentration camps, including Auschwitz. After the war he lived in England, where he first met his wife, Evelyn. They were married for nearly 45 years. In 1962, the couple moved to San Francisco where they started selling watches and eventually switched to pearls. Baum was buried in Israel.
