Inhorgenta Europe 2006, the 33rd International Fair for Watches, Clocks, Jewellery, Precious Stones, Pearls and Technology, held Feb. 17–20, in Munich, Germany, welcomed 1,157 exhibitors from 47 countries and more than 29,000 buyers from more than 70 countries.
A focal point of Inhorgenta Europe 2006 was the connection between fashion trends and developments in the timepiece and jewelry sectors. A fashion and trend show was designed for retailers, as were seminars dealing with the topic.
The seminar program in- cluded presentations such as “Soccer World Cup 2006: Top-Rate Opportunity for Jewelers” and “Strategies for Developing Customer Loyalty.” Panel discussions included such topics as “Brand New—New Brand” and “More Than Just Stones.”
This year’s winners of the Inhorgenta Europe Innovation Prize are Kirsten Bak (Idar- Oberstein, Germany), Victoria Erban (Pforzheim, Germany), Corinna Dolderer (Markdorf, Germany), and Susanna Loew (Saarbrücken, Germany). A special Silver Prize was also awarded for the first time, presented to Jordan Rembrandt (Antwerp, Belgium).
Inhorgenta Europe 2007 will take place on the grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, Feb. 23–26, 2007.
