As the fashion-jewelry-celebrity connection gains momentum, suppliers are taking advantage of high-profile product placement, as evidenced by the fall fashion runways and the recent Grammy Awards.
On the fashion runways, designer Mark Montano, for example, chose an array of designer pieces to accessorize his Mexican-inspired fall collection. Jewelers Stefan Hafner, Mark Patterson, Christian Tse, Bielka, Doris Panos, Roberto Coin, Jean Francois Albert, and Zydo, along with Lazare Kaplan, were featured by Montano.
Oscar de la Renta, Jeremy Scott, and Cynthia Steffe, meanwhile, preferred intense diamond statement-makers to accessorize their fall collections. Both de la Renta and Bagdley Mischka featured Fred Leighton diamonds, while Chaika’s models wore Kwiat’s classic diamond stud earrings. Steffe accessorized her collection with Elara’s classic three-stone jewelry, and Scott’s show served as the fashion premier for the Diamond Information Center’s Red Carpet Collection of eye-popping diamond jewels.
More recently, at the music industry’s biggest night, celebrities showed their funkier fashion tastes, yet illustrated the versatility of jewelry, with stars like Pink and Lil’ Kim jazzing up their fashion repertoire and giving new meaning to the word “rock” with the Red Carpet Collection.
