Jon Lief, a colored-stone importer who owns Great Lakes Gems Co. in Cleveland, has co-authored a book titled Get What You Want!! A Fun, Upbeat, and Fresh Approach to Negotiating!! The other author is Hal Becker, a sales trainer and author of two national best sellers.
Published by OakHill Press, the book has three parts. The first includes practical tips on the art of negotiating, reading the other party, avoiding negotiating mistakes, and the Internet and the future of negotiation. The second part offers tips on negotiating in everyday situations. Topics include getting a raise, parents versus children, and dealing with bosses and police. In the book’s third section, leaders share stories of success and pitfalls.
