Breitling celebrates 100 years of aviation—Dec. 17, 1903, was the date of the historic 12-second first flight by the Wright brothers—with its new Montbrillant 1903 chronograph. The timepiece is designed in the classic style of Breitling’s mid-20th century chronograph, long popular with pilots. Details include a two-tone dial distinguishing timekeeping from logarithmic scales, a beaded bezel—an exact replica of the one used on the first Breitling chronos equipped with the famous circular slide rule, an indispensable tool for pilots for more than a quarter century—and Breitling’s exclusive self-winding caliber 35 movement. The back of the watch features the silhouette of the Wright brothers plane Flyer I. The Montbrillant 1903 is available in limited series of 100 each in yellow, rose, and white gold.
