Latin music sensation Soraya isn’t just borrowing and wearing jewels by Levinson Jewelers, Plantation, Fla. She’s also partnering in a charity venture with the marketing-savvy independent jeweler.
Soraya will be the special guest of honor at a fund-raising event that Levinson Jewelers will hold for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation on Dec. 3. Soraya herself battled stage-three breast cancer and is now back with a new album and a new sense of purpose.
Attendees will make a $100 donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and be entered in a raffle to win a pink sapphire necklace created just for Soraya by jewelry designer Barry Kronen. The necklace, which consists of sapphires crafted into a delicate bow, has a retail value of $5,000. All money raised will be earmarked for breast cancer education.
