Platinum Guild International China has launched a new advertising campaign in China this month and appointed Ziyi Zhang as its brand ambassador. A platinum television commercial featuring Zhang was shot on a small island in Hawaii and began running in the country April 7.
Ziyi Zhang is one of the most well-known Chinese film actresses, she is mainly known in the U.S. for her leading role in Academy Award winning film Memoirs of a Geisha. Zhang has been nominated for a Golden Globe, Screen Actor’s Guild Award, and MTV Movie Award for her outstanding performance in Memoirs of a Geisha. In addition to her exceptional talent in acting People magazine listed Zhang as one of its ’50 Most Beautiful People’ in 2005.
The new collection of platinum jewelry featured in the campaign was inspired by the flowers of the four seasons brought to life by 12 Chinese designers. Since 2002 China has become the largest consumer market in the world for platinum jewelry.
