Verragio, the New York City–based designer of diamond engagement and wedding rings, has appointed Sophia Macris (pictured) creative director of its new fine jewelry division.

Macris graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and began her career at Saks Fifth Avenue, before transitioning to Barneys New York, where she worked in buying and planning. Most recently, she served for the past 12 years as senior vice president of sales at Roberto Coin.

Macris will work parallel with Barry Verragio, the CEO and designer of Verragio, who will continue to focus on the brand’s bridal collections, while Macris spearheads its fine jewelry division.
