Vera Wang—the fashion designer whose sophisticated wedding gowns made her the undisputed queen of the wedding dress in the 1990s—is now also designing fine jewelry specifically for Chinese brides.
The Vera Wang Group and leading Chinese jewelry conglomerate Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group announced this morning that they’ve partnered on a fine wedding jewelry collection launching Oct. 19 exclusively in mainland China.
Wang, who is of Chinese descent, has designed a series of engagement and fine fashion diamond styles for “the modern Chinese bride, who has begun to incorporate diamond jewelry into traditional engagements,” according to a joint statement from the companies.
The Vera Wang Love fine jewelry collection will include 18k gold and platinum engagement rings, as well as wedding bands and 18k gold and platinum fine fashion pieces featuring diamonds and sapphires.
The collection uses T Mark traceable diamonds throughout, which are individually marked with (and are identifiable by) their own nano-inscriptions. Prices start at around $400 for fine jewelry pieces.
The line will debut at Chow Tai Fook stores in Shanghai and will further expand to other cities including Beijing, Chengdu, and Hong Kong.
“It is with the greatest joy and respect I am able to partner with Chow Tai Fook on my new jewelry collection,” said Wang in the statement. “The sophistication, quality, technical capabilities, and vast consumer reach of Chow Tai Fook will enable me to create both wedding and fashion signature pieces at the highest quality—from the attainable to the most exclusive.”
Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Ltd. was founded in 1929, and under the shingles of its many brands (including Hearts On Fire) operates an extensive retail network in greater China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.
