The diamond-studded eternity bangle suddenly feels very right
Two years ago, I spoke with a prominent jewelry retailer who told me, “I couldn’t give a diamond tennis bracelet away if I tried.” We all felt it—the sinewy, diamond-studded style had simply fallen out of fashion. And it’s basically languished outside the style spotlight since.
But with the recent return of charm bracelets and delicate gold chain bracelets, the tennis bracelet—which became synonymous in the 1980s with preppy tennis skirt–wearing ladies from the Hamptons to Beverly Hills—is almost certainly poised for a reemergence.
Signs of a second life could arguably be found in a classic jewelry style that’s come around again: the diamond-studded eternity bangle, which I’ve personally been referring to as the tennis bangle.
It’s an elegant, upscale jewelry style that’s in the current inventory mix at Roberto Coin, Jack Kelége, Le Vian, and Tiffany & Co., among others.
