Opal seems to get the spotlight when we’re talking about October’s birthstone, and I don’t disagree: The opal is pure magic. But tourmaline, October’s other birthstone, is wildly popular in jewelry design. It’s all but exploded during the past couple of years as the star of many unforgettable jewels, and since it’s available in many color variations, there’s something for everyone. How great would it be to be born in October? It’s the month that celebrates autumn at its peak, Halloween, and two of the very best gemstones you could ever come across. Here are some of my favorite tourmaline designs.
