Ruba Abu-Nimah, formerly of Revlon and Elle magazine, has been named executive creative director of Tiffany & Co., the company confirmed.
The news first appeared in WWD.
According to her profile on LinkedIn, Abu-Nimah most recently served as senior vice president and creative director for Revlon, beginning in April 2018. Before that, she served as creative director for Elle magazine from May 2017 to March 2018, and prior to that she held creative director roles at Shiseido and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
“The Middle Eastern–born, internationally raised, and New York–based advertising wiz is known for her Warholian understanding of art and commerce, which can also be felt in the high-low juxtapositions on her mesmerizing Instagram,” wrote Sotheby’s in 2019.
Abu-Nimah told the auction house that “one of my biggest lessons in life is that art, fashion, and commerce are all connected.”
Abu-Nimah is the retailer’s first major creative appointment since the departure of chief design officer Reed Krakoff, who left the company when it became part of LVMH earlier this year.
