English jeweler Theo Fennell confirmed in a statement that the company is in preliminary talks with EME Capital, which could lead to a takeover.
The company cautioned that there was no certainty that “a formal offer will be made for the company or the terms on which such an offer may be made.”
The announcement came on the heels of a recent move in the company’s share price.
