Tejas Shah (pictured) is stepping down as CEO of Unique Designs, after 17 years with the company.
Shah’s departure is by “mutual agreement,” the company said, adding that Shah wanted to pursue something different.
Following a four-month transition, Shah will be replaced as CEO by Albert Franco, Unique Designs’ president of sales for the past eight years. Franco has worked for the Secaucus, N.J.–based firm since 2008.
A statement from Unique said Shah had led the company to become one of the largest jewelry manufacturers in North America. Unique Designs also owns Tanya Creations and Mercury Ring. It purchased the latter in 2017.
“Tejas’ vision and leadership have been instrumental in building Unique Designs to where it is today,” Franco said in the statement. “Not only has he inspired people within the group, he has pushed the industry to think differently.”
