Tacori’s new special-edition pin to support the American Cancer Society is more than a company fund-raising project—it’s a way to show love for people who have been through a difficult season in their lives, says Tacori CEO Paul Tacorian.
For Tacorian, that person is his wife, Natalie, a breast cancer survivor who recently celebrated five years of recovery. The Sharing Love heart pin that Tacori introduced Sept. 5 is in part a tribute to her and their family, he says.
Tacori will donate 30% of the total sale price for every Sharing Love pin sold through Oct. 30 to the American Cancer Society. A minimalist heart with the phrase “Sharing Love” engraved on the reverse side, the pin has a subtle Tacori Crescent, the brand’s signature design element, on its front surface. It is priced at $149 in silver and $1,890 in 18k yellow, white, or rose gold.
Tacorian says he hopes people will purchase and wear the Sharing Love pin for the same reason he does—to show support for a loved one. While the pin benefits the American Cancer Society, it can represent any struggle or challenge somebody has faced, he says.
“What the Sharing Love pin is about is a symbol of what she overcame. It’s a symbol of what the kids and me went through as well,” Tacorian says. “It’s about sharing more love. That’s why I created this pin. It’s about all of us sharing love and support of her, her challenges, what she went through. Everyone can wear this pin and share their own stories of how they overcame a challenge.”
Sharing Love’s symbolism comes from a conversation Tacorian had with his wife after he gave her a different jewel, a necklace.
“I got her a piece of jewelry from Tacori that had a pink ribbon made with diamonds, but she never wore it. I asked her why, and she said she didn’t want a reminder of [her breast cancer]. It didn’t make her feel good.”
Tacorian says cancer is only one chapter in his family’s story, but it is an important one. By wearing the Sharing Love pin, people can show off their love and start conversations about experiences that might inspire others.
“We want to share these love stories about health and everything else,” Tacorian says. “Sharing Love is about what keeps you strong, how you find comfort in the struggles. You learn so much from it. It’s about looking at the joyful side of things versus the negativity of whatever your struggle might be.”
