If you got in some pool time at JCK Las Vegas, good for you. That wasn’t my experience (except for a quick interview in one retailer’s cabana). If you can relate—and felt some FOMO—this jewelry collaboration might be the next best thing.
I mean, is this Svedka x Bonbonwhims collaboration the most luxurious thing I’ve ever covered here on All That Glitters? No, but I have to say, I find the sheer novelty of it compelling. Encompassing three earrings and three rings in the juiciest colors, this vodka-spiked “fruit salad” is the perfect way to keep the summer vibes going over this Labor Day weekend (and the limited-edition collection is available through the end of October).
Svedka, the Swedish vodka brand founded in 1998, is enjoying new popularity among the young and hip due to its recent addition of flavored versions (i.e., cherry limeade, dragonfruit melon, and, inexplicably, rosé), and this collaboration comes with the recent debut of the brand’s ready-to-drink canned cocktails (fruity riffs on the classic vodka soda).
Svedka sought Bonbonwhims to bring its mango pineapple, black cherry lime, and strawberry lemonade canned cocktail flavors to life in jewelry form in part because the jeweler’s trendy resin creations—all infused with a campy, freewheeling pop artistry—are an ideal medium. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that Bonbonwhims has a substantial social media following and fans such as Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande.
The Mango-Pineapple pop drop earring has a link motif inspired by the pop-top of one of Svedka’s canned cocktails.
And I’m reading the series of three big ol’ cocktail rings as something (deliciously?) meta.
Think of the collaboration as the Gen Z version of that collection Stephen Webster did with Grey Goose back in the day. And once the weather clears back East? I may or may not have a cooler of the Svedka canned drink thingies in my beach bag. Do not judge me. I am still recovering from last week.
Top: Drink up and savor the last few moments of summer with the new Svedka x Bonbonwhims jewelry collaboration. The jewelry company is known for its nostalgic 1980s vibes, something the fine jewelry world has been embracing as well. Resin rings, $55 each; Bonbonwhims
