Varsha Sells 5 Carat Flawless Natural Diamond

Los Angeles–based diamond brand and jewelry manufacturer Varsha Diamonds has announced the sale of an extraordinary diamond: a natural, 5 ct. Fireworks D-flawless emerald cut.

Accompanied by a GIA grading report and a Fireworks Diamonds certificate of authenticity, the stone was sold for roughly $275,000 through retail partner Phillips Jewelry in Tennessee.

“Fireworks Diamonds are scientifically proven by AGS A.S.E.T or Sarine light performance technologies to be the largest and brightest diamonds in the world, and all because of the way they are cut. We cut for beauty, as opposed to cutting for size, and it produces superior results that the customer can see in the store,” said Jay Mehta, partner and director of business operations for Varsha Diamonds, in a statement. “Fireworks Diamonds also minimize and/or eliminate visual dark fields, like bowties, from fancy shaped diamonds, which helps retailers achieve higher margins on natural loose diamonds, while giving their customers fun bragging rights. We are delighted to have helped Phillips Jewelry impress their customer and achieve a fabulous margin for this stunning natural diamond.”

Superfit Achieves RJC Certification

Philadelphia-based fine jewelry manufacturer Superfit announced it has achieved certified member status with the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the first Pennsylvania jewelry company to do so.

The family-owned company, known for its innovative CLIQ custom-fit ring technology, had to undergo assessments by independent third-party auditors to determine it met the environmental and social practices and governance factors as standardized by the RJC.

“Sustainable and fair business practices have always been central to Superfit’s values,” said Eric Alulis, Superfit president, in a statement. “Our RJC certification formalizes this commitment and hopefully plays a part in advancing standards within our industry and among our peers while proving that no matter the size of your business, you can stand with global brands when it comes to your level of dedication to sustainability.”
