Baltimore Show Partnering With Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

The Palm Beach Show Group announced a charitable addition to the 2019 Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show: partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Contributions to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) are being collected online through the show’s dedicated foundation page, and can be made at the show’s new Baltimore Lemonade Bar and Lounge during the event. The foundation, named for its founder and creator, Alexandra Scott, raises funds to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

This will be the 39th year for the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show, returning to the Inner Harbor at the Baltimore Convention Center over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 29–Sept. 1.

The Atlanta Jewelry Show Concludes Its 4-Day August Event

The August 2019 edition of the Atlanta Jewelry Show (AJS) closed on August 12, having brought together a reported 1,200 industry professionals and a record number of new buyers.

“While staying true to our roots by providing exceptional products and resources for independent jewelers, we were proud to expand our theme of New Routes, through introducing new concepts and feature areas throughout the show that were extremely well-received by all attendees,” said the show’s executive director Libby Brown, in a statement. “Our overall mission is to strengthen and maintain our jewelry community, and this show solidified that commitment. I believe my team and I successfully accomplished our goal of providing a comprehensive event and positively impacted the businesses of many retailers and vendors alike.”

In addition to its array of vendors, new and returning, highlights of AJS 2019 include the AJS University, a lineup of educational sessions (select sessions may be viewed on the AJS Facebook page); the Runway, an all-new pavilion that hosted its exhibitors in specialty booths; Occasions Shop, an area offering gift items and high-end display units with sales benefiting the AJS Kids Jewelry Camp; the AJS CAD-CAM Challenge, an all-day competition won this year by Hubbell Jewelry Design’s Meghan Proctor; and the Loupe and One-Stop Shop neighborhood, created in the spirit of small-town America and featuring green space, park benches, and gathering areas.

The AJS Kids Jewelry Camp (KJC), an industry favorite that this year enrolled 24 young jewelers, took its campers through several jewelry-making techniques, marketing strategies, and a mock trunk show. “I think I can safely say we are truly making a difference in these children’s lives, and we are honored to play a role in cementing their legacy, thereby ensuring the future of the jewelry industry,” said event coordinator Mindy Spritz, in the same statement. “It was such a joy to work with these immensely talented students, and we are grateful for the AJS community’s support with this endeavor.” The next session of KJC will be during the AJS spring show, March 8-9, 2020, and is open to children of AJS exhibitors and retail buyers ages 7 and up.
