At the beginning of what will forever be known as the quarantine era, a glimpse of Sorellina’s beautiful office decor seemed apropos as so many of us shifted to a work-from-home situation. That was in March but seems like several lifetimes ago.
Now that New York City, ground zero for the virus, has entered Phase 2, it seems fitting that I am once again turning my attention to the NYC-based jewelry line.
Because its latest collection seems to emphasize a simple fact: It’s summer. It’s strawberry season. And neither is canceled.
“During the dark, early days of quarantine we were daydreaming of summer and hopefully better times to come,” says Kim Carosella, who co-owns Sorellina with her sister Nicole. “We were looking to make something fun (and sweet) that could create a little joy during these crazy times. And what is more gratifying than a perfectly ripe strawberry?”
Titled Fragola (the name of the fruit in Italian), this petite range is intended to “inject a little playfulness into our everyday routines,” Carosella says. At present, the sisters are hard at work on a larger collection set to debut in September. So these luscious fragole will have to satiate us until then.
Amid the strawberry motifs, set with bright, juicy pink sapphires, there are a few signature pieces and gold bracelets set with paler pink sapphires. I also love the bits of white onyx seen throughout—it’s the perfect complement, like a dollop of whipped cream.
All are ripe for the picking below!
Top: XL Signature signet ring with pink opal, pink sapphires, and diamonds in 18k gold, $5,900
