Instagram Expands Carousel to 20 Frames
Instagram users can now share up to 20 photos per carousel post, up from the previous allotment of 10.
Instagram had experimented with allowing as many as 15 photos and even 20 for select users over the past several months, before officially making the 20 frames available to all Instagrammers.
Does this remind anyone else of the photo albums people often created on Facebook years ago? A maximum of 20 pictures and/or video clips is enough to post highlights of a vacation—or in the case of our industry, a jewelry show or full look at a new collection.
This is good news for engagement from the still-popular app.
Threads Adds Content Planning Features
Threads is evidently growing, with the recent addition of analytics, post drafts, and scheduling. These new features point to greater usage by content creators and will improve ease of use for everyone, from social media managers to casual users.
Desktop users of Threads can now access an analytics dashboard on their account, with statistics on view counts, interactions, follower growth, audience demographics, and more. This information could be helpful for strategy, brand partnerships, and other sales and promotion activities.
Threads said it is in the process of rolling out the capacity for multiple drafts, and will soon introduce scheduling. “Content planning helps creators and businesses maintain a consistent online presence,” said an announcement from Meta. “Our new scheduling feature will help with this process by allowing you to create Threads posts and schedule them to publish at a later date and time. You can schedule multiple posts a day, multiple days in advance.”
TikTok Offers Incentive Rewards to Creators
Could TikTok be experiencing a decline in usership? As the clock ticks on its time here in the States, there are reports that the popular app is offering monetary incentives on referrals for new creators.
Reportedly, some TikTokers would receive either $300 in promotion credits or a $100 Amazon gift card to invite YouTube and Instagram users with big followings (over 10K in YouTube, and more than 100K on Instagram) to TikTok.
