Share

Paul Kronick, Signet’s former vice president of e-commerce and special orders, died on Oct. 8 from complications related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 69.

A graduate of Kent State University with a B.S. in psychology, Kronick worked for State Wholesale and then J.B. Robinson Jewelers, which was acquired by Signet in 1990.

He went on to fill a variety of roles at Signet during a period of strong growth for the company. He was appointed vice president of retail operations in 1997, then became vice president of its Jared division in 2003.

Two years later, Kronick was named Signet’s vice president of special orders and merchandising. He retired in 2017 as vice president of e-commerce and special orders.

An online obit remembered Kronick as a devoted fan of Cleveland sports with an “unstoppable” work ethic.

“He was a leader that made you believe you were good but with more training and more effort you could be great,” the obituary said. “Throughout his life, Paul left a lasting positive impact on everyone he met. He was known for his unwavering optimism, always finding humor no matter the circumstance.…

“Throughout his fight with ALS, Paul’s spirit was infectious. He had a remarkable ability to lift others up, reminding those around him to focus on the good and never give up.”

He is survived by his wife, Tryna Kronick (formerly Kochanek), who was also a Signet executive; four children; one grandson; and a brother and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association or I Am ALS.
