Shreve & Co., a longtime California-based jewelry store,
will open its first store in Portland, Ore., this fall.
Susan Morgan, spokesperson for Shreve & Co., tells JCK the company is expanding to
Portland because there is room for a store like Shreve in the city’s market.
“There’s really not a store there that carries the types of
brands Shreve carries,” she says.
The flagship store, located in San Francisco, is a
fourth-generation high-end store that carries Jaeger-LeCoultre, Mikimoto,
Wellendorff, Oscar Heyman, Roberto Coin, and Marco Bicego, among others.
Morgan says the California store starts with high-end
designers but the Portland store will have a wider price range. “It will have a
lot of good silver lines and a very good watch representation,” she says.
Morgan says Shreve & Co.’s owners, the Schiffman family,
will take possesion of the building this week and will soon begin renovation. “I
think it will be a beautiful store,” she says. “They are very excited to go to
Portland and get involved in the community there.”
