Detroit-based watch and real estate companies Shinola and Bedrock will team up to create the Shinola Hotel, a combination of the watchmaker’s craftsmanship and the developer’s urban-revitalization know-how. The 130-plus-room Shinola Hotel will be located at 1400 Woodward Ave. in Detroit, and will feature design from Gachot Studios and Detroit-based Kraemer Design Group. Additionally, New York’s NoHo Hospitality Group will offer an inspiring food and beverage program. The hotel is expected to open in fall 2018. The reason for the venture? According to the brands, Detroit’s tourism industry is thriving and creating more of a demand for accomodations.
