Seiko has been chosen as the official timekeeper of the International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships, held Aug. 27–Sept. 4 in Daegu, South Korea.
During the course of the event, the Seiko Timing Team, a group of 50 timing engineers drawn from two specialist centers in Japan and the U.K., will measure more than 15,000 individual times, speeds, and distances, all of which will be critical to the official results and presentation of the sport.
Seiko has served as the official timer for 11 consecutive IAAF World Championships. Preparations for this year’s event began after the previous World Championships in Berlin in 2009.
