Fans of vibrant color, jewelry, art, accessories, décor, and, well, anything that is cheerful and available for purchase will want to visit the newly opened Sobral store in New York. Carlos Sobral, owner and designer, R.S. Sobral, a Brazilian maker of jewelry and décor fashioned out of recycled resin and other materials, has opened an American flagship store in Soho at 412 West Broadway.
The white walls of the space, complete with a loft, are ideal for showcasing the brilliant jewel tones of his work. Jewelry, wall sconces, candlesticks, picture frames, and more, mainly made out of resin (though some jewelry features recycled computer parts) paint the landscape of the store’s interior as the ultimate, non-prescription cure for the blues: a kaleidoscope of color is evident at every turn and on each shelf. When it becomes too psychedelic for eyes to see, just buy a bit of the brightness to bring home with thee. Prices start at less than 50 bucks. And ask to see the toilet seat–it’s pretty neat.
