Gemvara announced recently that Roy Albers has joined the company as vice president of operations.
Albers is a seasoned jewelry professional with extensive experience in diamonds, gemstones and manufacturing. He served previously as senior vice president of operations at Slane & Slane. He was also chief gemologist and vice president of gemstone acquisitions for Tiffany & Co. Albers also worked as a buyer of diamond and precious gems at QVC, where he created the Affinity diamond brand. He also managed operations for luxury start-up Adornis.com and the New York operation of Swarogem, in addition to traveling worldwide to source fine gemstones for Krementz Gemstones.
He has also served on the board of directors of the American Gem Trade Association and the American Gem Society.
