Gemologist and author Gary A. Roskin, G.G., FGA, the former gemstone editor for JCK magazine, has launched the Roskin Gem News Report Web site (www.roskingemnews.com), which covers gemstones and gem-related topics. 

The site has 10 portals or channels, each with a specific focus: diamonds, colored gems, pearls, estate jewels, “From the Web,” “From the Trade Media,” “From the Consumer Media,” “On Television,” “For Fun,” and “Quiz of the Week.” Topics include market news, gem locales, grading, treatments and enhancements, famous gems, product knowledge, birthstones, appraising, and gem-related publications including trade and consumer magazines. 

The Roskin Gem News Report combines gem education and news, with information on traditional gems, old and new cutting styles, gem art, and identification and disclosure of treatments, among other topics, as well as reports on new gem finds and current product availability. 

Roskin, JCK’s gemstone editor from 1997 to 2009, is the author of Photo Masters for Diamond Grading and is an adjunct professor of gemology at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
