Gina D’Amato (pictured) is the new executive director of the Alliance for Responsible Mining the group behind Fairmined gold.
D’Amato will lead the organization from its global headquarters in Envigado, Colombia, and will focus on inclusive and sustainable development of miners from artisanal and small-scale mining communities.
She has more than 15 years of experience in sustainable development. According to LinkedIn, she has previously worked as senior cash-based interventions assistant with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), director of education and culture for the Medellín Botanical Garden, and tourism development director of the governor’s office of Antioquia, all in Colombia.
